I moved most of my accounts from TD to Canada Trust in 1999. Four
months later, TD bought Canada Trust.

I had switched my Mastercard from whoever it was (Capital One?) to
Canada Trust. Because of the fine print in Canadian law at the time,
the merged CT and TD had to dump Mastercard, and ended up selling my
account back to whoever it was. All of my attempts at customer
disloyalty in the last year of the millenium were canceled out before
   the end of the year.
