   New Zealand dumped the 1c, 2c and 5c coins a few years ago and all cash   
   transactions are rounded to the nearest 10c (usually using Swiss Rounding,   
   where 5 and below are rounded down and 6 and above are rounded up).   
      
   Card and cheque based transactions are still charged at the price tag   
   amount of "$9.95", "$7.99", or whatever.   
      
   I guess if you were really frugual / penny-pincher you would wait and see   
   what the transaction total was and if it was being rounded down, pay in   
   cash and otherwise pay the exact amount via card / cheque ... all those   
   extra 1c, 2c, 3c, 4c and 5c soon add up.  :-)
