   Maybe but this particular individual definitely saw the cart in motion   
   and made no attempt to stop it though he was at most 20' away at the   
   time.   
      
   In any case, I wouldn't have called him that had he abandoned the cart   
   altogether though even in that case most decent people leave their   
   carts against a curb where the carts won't roll. Or put it in a row of   
   carts provided by the grocery store - but not leave it somewhere where   
   mayhem is likely.   
      
   To see the cart in motion directly aimed at a car and making no   
   attempt to stop it - to me only a real lowlife would let a cart they   
   were responsible for damage someone's car when they _easily_ had the   
   ability to prevent it. It's not like heroic measures were required.   
   Just something decent people in society routinely do.
