   Wow.  I remember that ads for selling _Grit_ -- not ads for the   
   product, but ads soliciting people (kids) to sell it -- were close   
   to ubiquitous in comic books in the 1960s, but this is the first   
   time in my life that I've encountered anyone who actually _did_ it.
