   In Vancouver, I've seen these travellators in at least three stores.   
   In all three cases, the trolley wheels are two rims with a   
   non-rotating pad between them. On the travelator, the rims fall into   
   the grooves, and the trolley sits on the pad and doesn't go anywhere.
