I recently came across a series of youtube videos giving the full
mission. Something I found very interesting is just how much longer the
emergency took in real life as opposed to the movie. Excellent example
of a movie being very accurate, while still editing it down to the
   interesting parts.

It's amazing that they were able to make a gripping, tense movie when we
all know how it came out. It also had some of the best CGI special
effects; I would never have guessed the launch sequence was CGI if I
   hadn't been told.
