   and Panthers, but they were superior to the bulk of actual German tanks.   
      
   The US made 50,000 Shermans alone (3/4 with 75mm guns, this is production not   
   counting upgrades like the Firefly).  (and 2200 Pershings) (plus 9000 assorted   
   tank destroyers, with powerful guns but crap armor)   
      
   The USSR made 57,000 T-34s (22k -85's, the rest -76s).  (plus about 8000   
   assorted heavy tanks)
