The original "Star Wars" movie was somewhat hamstrung by special
effects techniques. Even by the time of"The Empire Strikes Back" there
had been improvements, which allowed for bigger battles. Add in a more
frenetic lightsaber battle, and you've increased the chances of the
   ADHD viewers to be interested.

The Prequel Trilogy is part of the story. George Lucas said he started
in the middle (Episode IV) because he knew people would find the start
   "boring".

Much of the complaints are from people who saw the Original Trilogy as
kids and stupidly believe the movies should have "grown up" as they
supposedly had. They completely miss the point that the Original
Trilogy movies were aimed at kids and that having "grown up" Prequels
would have made an ill-fitting mess of the franchise.
