The Prequel Trilogy/Original       Trilogy "Complete Cross-Sections" book doesn't mention impellers on the TIE       Bomber, (but it's only a "legendary" book, now,) but the "drop chute" from the       pod to the launch point        suggests one could be there. One could imagine them designed to impel them in       a direction forward of the bomber rather than at right angles to its travel.        That brings us a step towards the Rebel "bombers," the Y-Wing and B-Wing,       which launch proton        torpedoes. (The X-Wing can also carry at least two proton torpedoes, but       apparently not enough to be considered useful for a bomber mission.)              It was done for the visuals. They could have tried harder to justify it...       but close enough.              --        -Jack              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
