   Haven't seen it nor read the book (which may answer the question), but   
   one option if the jump was forward in time might be to hide some money   
   / ATM card / etc. somewhere before the jump so he can collect it after   
   the jump.

   Presumably since you say "he can't take anything with him", then he   
   couldn't take the bullet with him ... but if non-prt-of-him objects   
   already inside him do go on the jump, then perhaps the answer to the   
   previous question is that he put some money or cellphone "inside"   
   himself before jumping.
