   conditions) in large quantities and sufficient purity.   
      
   Of course, it should also permit the sort of hydrophilic/hydrophobic   
   interactions (or, for a non-polar solvent, lipophilic/lipophobic)   
   that make water such a good candidate for life.   
      
   Please show that you have at least a miniscule fraciton of a clue   
   what you are actually talking about when accusing scientists of   
   being lazy.
