"The Mandalorian" TV series is not about Boba Fett.

   The problem is that;

   a. Neither Lucasfilm nor Disney really understand that. They insist on
always bringing in the original characters. They had a perfectly good,
separate series with "Rebels", and then ran out of sensible ideas and
had to bring in Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Leia, etc. Same with "Lego
       Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures".

   and

   b. The general human being is incredibly stupid. If the movies / TV shows
don't include those original chracters, you get all the dumbasses
complaining "Where is {insert character}?", "Did (s)he die?", etc.

Nobody seems to have the common sense to understand that it's a massive
universe with a ton of different stories that could be told. The
closest we've got so far, outside of a few books, was the "Rogue One"
   movie.

Mind you, it's no different in any other franchise. For example, in the
spin-off Stargate shows they kept bringing in the original SG-1
   characters.

As alwyas, it basically comes back to a complete lack of any actual
creative ability in Hollyweird these days, so they lazily bring out the
stuff we've already seen a billion times before. :-(
