   I'm trying to think what a "2001" remake should have, especially with Your   
   calling for an in-name-only remake.  (Wait a minute, we can't call it "2001"   
   or even "2010"!)  Basically the joke "How the Solar System Was Won" towards   
   which Clarke sold Kubrick    
   several short stories to use as vignettes.  But we need a big-picture wrapup   
   to point to a deeper meaning.  When it comes to this Chariots of the Gods   
   stuff I'd rather be an atheist.  Maybe something that makes the migration to   
   space look less like the    
   white male european horde sweeping westward and look more like "The March of   
   the Penguins."
