Time for a revision to the amendment.        Protecting the right of someone to stand in town square and say pretty much       whatever they want       is no longer sufficient protection and free from gov't is no longer       sufficient. We need to extend the first amendment to protection        against on-line advertisers and ISPs and hosts.        The problem with google is they don't just restrict advertisers who don't want       to be associated with whatever.....they eliminate       all advertising on that page if they don't like it. That needs to stop.              It's even worse. In looking at how a website could get around google as a       gatekeeper I see this.              The simplest way is to use your server-side scripting language to randomly       display either ad network one or ad network 2.              "However, it's important to check the Terms of Use for each ad provider to see       if the ad networks are compatible. Google, in particular, is a little feisty       about what kind of ads they want used in conjunction with AdSense."              So google not only punishes a site for their content but for also engaging a       competitor ad network.              Google should have no say on what you do in your space...period. If product       advertisers don't want their ads to appear on your site...fine, Google can       control that.       But if the advertiser doesn't object...then google should not have that       authority.                      ScottW              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
