Yes, that       was meant to be enough to support a family. Had the original rate from       1968 kept pace with productivity growth it would be over $20/hr.               From the Republican Party Platform of 1968:              "We support an equitable minimum wage for American workers—one providing       fair wages without unduly increasing unemployment among those on the       lowest rung of the economic ladder—and will improve the Fair Labor       Standards Act, with its important protections for employees."              > https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/a-devastating-financ       al-blow-california-s-so-called-draconian-fast-food-bill-is-now-l       w-here-s-why-a-mcdonald-s-franchisee-group-says-it-ll-cost-small       business-owners-250k-a-year/ar-AA1gWYh8?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=       472f111af9c746a78de037ee3a9e0646&ei=21              McDonald's will get by with even fewer workers.              https://www.mashed.com/1259433/first-mcdonalds-restaurant-robot-employees/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
