   Anyway, back to the lie: VAT is the opposite of regressive. It's a consumption   
   tax. That is the DEFINITION of progressive taxation. Income tax is the   
   apotheosis of regression, and in the U.S. the regressiveness is magnified   
   by the innumerable loopholes and sinkholes engineered by fuckuplicans.   
      
   BTW, while we're in the neighborhood, how about you denounce the   
   fuckuplicans' virulent hatred of the IRS. For context, remember that when   
   your gang of would-be plutocrats elected MAGA Mike, the first thing he   
   did was try to cut the IRS's funding. Doing so is a proven way of reducing   
   the government's revenue. The IRS's effectiveness is measured by the   
   straightforward Return On Investment.
