Is 8 ohm tap better, worse,       >or are we indifferent as to which?                     The technical arguments will be along shortly, but there is for certain       a difference in the presentation of the sound. Connecting the loop       directly to the speaker seems to give a closer, tighter effect.       Connection to the outer winding shifts perspective to a different seat.              And a third way: un-ground the 0 ohm tap, and ground the 8 ohm tap.       Connect the speaker between them, and take tertiary feedback from the 16       ohm tap. The speaker is out of the loop, and perspective shifts again.              Preferences will vary.              Regards,       b       B              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
