From: pfjw@aol.com              *THIS* will be the final "Permanent Tube System" that will retain       pride-of-place amongst the five active systems I maintain:              Tuner: Tweaked Dynaco FM3       Pre-Amp: Tweaked PAS3X       Power Amp: Scott LK150 with a much-improved power-supply       Speakers: AR Athena Sub/Sat system       CD Player: Sony 5-disc changer.       Turntable: Rabco ST7 w/Shure cartridge       Cassette: Revox B215              All legacy stuff, but it sounds quite nice. I expect it will get between 3 and       8 hours per week of use, about half that of the Main system.               This is not to suggest or imply that there will be no more tube stuff floating       around - this is only to state that the above configuration is no longer in       question as it meets all our present needs, is in excellent condition, is easy       to use and sounds        excellent. A LOT of stuff went in and out of this system before we settled on       this configuration. Robust, yet very well behaved.               The other two 'permanent' systems are solid-state, and so of limited interest       here.               Peter Wieck       Melrose Park, PA              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
