From: info@turneraudio.com.au              Big Bad Bob        22 Aug       On 08/10/16 17:47, Patrick Turner so wittily quipped:        > I probably need to try this test to see if m7 W10 PC works with Google       Groups. The PC used to be W Pro7, but then I could not stop it upgrading to       W10 without charging me a cent. So Enny Waye, its OK because I have W10 on a       HP laptop 15.6" I bought 6        weeks ago, which seems to have taught me how to used W10 after the last 10       years on XP.               ew, you poor guy. you're better off in XP. at least it's not "flatso"        2D FLUGLY like Win-10-nic. I'd figure if you like tubes, you'd prefer        something more "classic" looking.               if you're gonna have to re-learn to use your computer, might as well go        with Mint Linux. trust me, you'd never go back. And if you want it        nicely 3D skeuomorphic, you can choose that. or 2d "flatso" if you        prefer, whichever. YOUR choice.               I am almost OK with W10 now, but you are not the only one to say I ought to       use Linux.        But I am trapped with only having precious time, and my website re-writes of       somewhat clunky pages needs constant work and time.       I have two problems I have no clue how to solve,        (1) how to get Core FTP to upload/download pages in W10. I was SO EASY with       XP, but a complete Miss Terry with W10, and maybe I have to have another 1/2       chat with guy at ISP.        (2) I downloaded my whole site at a cafe through Wi-Fi 2 months ago, and I       used HTTtracker, and there were good comments and reviews. DO NOT TOUCH this       horrid shithouse program!!!! It mauled a lot of the html and invented page       titles which would have        stopped ppl using the site, and I spend days removing html crap from every       html page at my site.       But the html line "mirrored from HTPtracker ....." etc could not be removed if       I deleted it from top and bottom of html page, then saved the cleaned page. It       would immediately re-appear when I re-opened the page tp edit html source.       So, something I do not want has got my pages by short&curlies and I have no       clue how to issue an instruction to PC to remove the unwanted HTTPtracker       tile/mention from all places where it occurs on my site or on PC.              Unfortunately, PCs have a very long way yo go before they become enabled to       comply with a simple human instruction.               I do not want to upload many revised pages before I remove the unwanted info       installed by a tracking program which I see has no benefit to anyone, except       maybe to let tracker program hack my site if they wanted to.              One way to remove the html shit I don't want could be to make a new html page       then copy and paste the corrupted page content without corruption to new page,       then delete the older version.               I have begun a new page on guitar amps and the now html page does not       automatically have this HTTPtracker shit on it.              Polite comments may be sent direct to patrick@turn*SPAM*eraudio.com.au       (remove *SPAM*)               Keep well, and I know many of you have found that a horrid struggle with       relatives such as Unkel Fait and Aunty Destinee.       Patrick Turner.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
