I think that this is the Lang & Taylor Model designation. It came       with a schematic and parts list for the A-40 amplifier. The unit came with a       Collaro RS-456 record        changer with a ceramic cartridge. It sounds amazing, but I'd be afraid to put       any of my records on it due to the weight of the tone arm. The 45s seem to       sound better than they do on audiophile equipment. Our unit came with an       extension speaker that        looks the same as the console.                     HI RATs!              Yes, old consoles can be a sweet treat. The advertising marketeers have been       claiming:              "No one ever made a great sounding system before THIS ONE!"              for nearly a century.              Possibly a bit much...              If you have a mono system with two speaker cabinets, all you need is a stand       alone mono integrated amp (with preamp). Stereo is a great invention, apart       from the insanity of retail marketing. Simply hook one channel to your old       system and the other to        the new amp with the extension speaker to the new amp. Voila!              Real Stereo is a marketing gimmick.               Enjoy your Newest Stereo with Joy in your Heart!              Happy Ears!              Geezer Al              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
