   What you glossed over was the concept of Paschal's Wager.   
      
   It is all of-a-piece. What we do as individuals and as a species are related,   
   but not the same thing, necessarily. And as the drive of any given species is   
   to 'make more of itself', with the concept of global self-interest having no   
   place in that process,   
    to think globally is contrary to several million years' of evolution. We are   
   seeing Darwinism at its most obvious right around us - just look at world   
   politics. Keeping in mind, of course, that Darwinism is very nearly the polar   
   opposite of Altruism and/   
   or the Social Contract.    
      
   The significant difference is, I can afford to be wrong. LV and its ilk   
   cannot.
