From: jdurmott55655@enau.net              Had this happen before and now, 30 years later, it has happened again.       A stupid deer simply ran right into my side, knocked off the driver's       side mirror and dented the door. I have a Ford Taurus 03 wagon.              Replacing the mirror looks straightforward enough, assuming I don't have       issues removing the door panel, but the dent is of concern. When the       mirror bent outward from the deer impact, the door pulled outward a bit       and compromised the window-door seal.              My budget is extremely limited as I have been out of work and looking       for work. Did not need this to happen, but that's life. A new mirror       looks to be around $30-35 online, maybe less at my local junkyard, but       what about the door? Is there any way I can maybe bend it back so that       the seal makes contact once again? I also had the thought of applying       silicone (over the compromised rubber door seal), then cutting away       between silicone and window with a thin razor after it dries.              Your thoughts would be welcome and thank you in advance.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
