XPost: sac.politics, fl.politics, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh       XPost: soc.culture.african.american       From: rhk@pfeiser.com              The unlicensed teen driver of a stolen car that smashed into       Miami Dade College’s Liberty City campus blamed the deadly crash       on a brake and steering malfunction, according to the arrest       affidavit.              Stanley Georges, 16, faces charges of vehicular homicide and       leaving the scene of the wreck that left one person dead and       three others in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.              Witnesses said the speeding four-door Lincoln sedan, reported       stolen Aug. 18, spun out of control on Northwest Seventh Avenue       and slammed into the campus entrance before bursting in flames,       barely missing people at a nearby bus stop. Pieces of the car       scattered across the sidewalk and street. One witness ran to the       car to see whether he could help.              “I guess he tried to miss some of the guys at the bus stop,”       Rodney Payne told Miami Herald news partner CBS4.              “He veered and tried to turn away from them, but at the rate of       speed he was going, it caused the car to spin. He spun out of       control. By the time he got any kind of control over it, it was       too late because he was headed straight into the college,” Payne       said. “Boom, he hits the college. The car crumpled and       immediately caught on fire.”              George climbed out through the sun roof, flagged down a passing       vehicle and asked for a ride. The teen’s family called for an       ambulance soon after he made it home, according to the arrest       report..              He told hospital staff his injuries were from a fight, police       said.              George’s stepmother later took him to the Miami police station       where investigators questioned him about the crash.              He initially denied any involvement.              After he was, “confronted by overwhelming evidence and with       statements from witnesses and passengers,” he finally admitted       he was the driver, according to the police report.              Classes at Miami Dade College’s Liberty City campus resumed a       regular schedule Wednesday, a day after the crash near the       entrance.              http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/08/28/3592465/teen-driver-of-       deadly-miami-dade.html              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
