   And, I agree with you, given that cell phones are ubiquitous in California   
   cars, the number of deaths and injuries has NOT (to my knowledge) risen at   
   all in the past few years.   
      
   In fact, it's my understanding that death and injuries have dropped   
   (partially due to the use of cell phones for routing around accident and   
   construction areas and more to the use of cell phones to call for help   
   quickly).   
      
   So, if cell phones aren't the problem ... then what is the problem?   
   (Answer: Silly laws.)
