If that's true, it's       really only good for positional confirmation (at which it is       very good at).              Certainly Google Maps won't cache the POI nor the ROUTES when you're       devoid of cellular signal; so Google Maps, which arguably can be       said to cache maps, can only be used (realistically) for       positional confirmation - but not much else.              > for longer drives, i don't use apple maps. i use a navigation app which       > includes its own map data and/or a dedicated gps device, which also has       > its own maps.              On Android, MapFactor Navigator is clearly the best that I can       find for routing outside a cellular connection. CoPilot is the       best I can find for finding POIs and ADDRESSES sans cellular signal.              On iOS, CoPilt works even better than it does on Android (which is       a nice surprise); but I haven't (yet) found a decent free map app       on iOS for voice routing. (I'm still searching as I'm new to iOS.)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
