   it usually is.   
      
   cops don't spend anywhere near as much time looking for red light   
   runners, which will almost always result in a crash.   
      
   going 75 in a 65 will almost never result in a crash, but that's what   
   they concentrate on because speeding tickets is easy money. they could   
   even set a threshold on the radar unit and let it do most of the work.   
      
   and here's more proof it's all about revenue:   
      
      
      
   someone held up a sign, which helped slow down traffic, exactly what   
   the cops wanted, but that meant fewer tickets being issued, which meant   
   less revenue to be had, and we can't have that.   
      
   so they arrested the guy.   
      
   what they should have done is say thank you for making our jobs easier.   
      
   that isn't the first time someone has been cited either. others have   
   been cited for similar signs or warnings, including being cited for   
   flashing their headlights to warn of oncoming speed traps.
