   Anyone who says "speed kills" is as misinformed as those who   
   think I'm going to drive any safer when a "baby on board" sign   
   is in the rear window of the car in front of me.   
      
   Putting that "baby on board" sign in the window isn't going   
   to make driving any safer. And speed doesn't kill.   
      
   Otherwise, as you said, the highways, mile for mile, would   
   have vastly more deaths than local roads, mile for mile.   
      
   Being a cyclist, I'd say "intersections kill" more so than   
   speed! :)
