Open up maps.google.com & enter in the GPS location:        37.291379,-121.958411              2. See the 3-way stop sign at Llewellyn Av & Queens St?              3. Notice that Queens street is only a few hundred feet long,        ending in a culdesac.              There is absolutely no way the traffic on EITHER street       warrants those stop signs. No way whatsoever. There is no       school nearby. No day care. No nothing. The sign is illegally       placed by the authorities.              The ONLY reason for those stops signs is to inconvenience       traffic which is skirting the expressway (IMHO).              These idiotic stop signs violate the NHTSA rules for stop signs.              Yet, I'm sure people get ticketed all the time for violating them,       even though there's not even the remotest possibility       that these stop signs meet NHTSA requirements for stop signs.              Me? I look *only* for police at them, otherwise I don't       even come close to stopping. Eventually I'll get ticketed,       and, then, I'll bring the NHTSA code with me because these       are illegally placed stop signs.              I may win, or I may lose, but I'm not stopping at those       idiotic stop signs. They showed disrespect for the law when       they placed them; and I will show the same disrespect for the       law by not abiding by them.              California is filled with these idiotically placed stop signs.              The people who put them up don't respect the law,       so, why should we?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
