There is no way the traffic from those 10 houses       needs a stop sign on the road it connects to. It's       impossible, from a data standpoint.              The only (logical) explanation is that the stop sign       is there for some other reason, which, it's clear (to me),       is to inconvenience traffic so that they don't use that       road instead of the expressway a thousand feet away.              But, if they wanted to slow down traffic, they should do       so with legal means (e.g., speed limit signs, speed bumps,       traffic quieting markings, etc.).              Their total disdain for the law in putting up those signs       in the first place means that I have absoloutely no respect       for them, or their illegal stop sign.              Therefore, I don't stop at that sign, ever. Unless there is       a cop there. Even so, I have a mind to mailing them a       certified letter telling them I will be driving by at       so and so a time and that I will not stop at that sign       and asking them to verify that and when they ticket me,       I wish I could get someone to help me, but when they       ticket me, I've a mind to fight it in court.              But, of course, that would take more time and money than       I care to spend; so, for now, I'll just not stop at any       of those illegally placed stop signs.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
