   The funny thing is that most of them, since they grew up in   
   California, actually think the signs are a good idea.   
      
   They were asked, before I moved there, whether they had wanted   
   the stop signs, and, they must have agreed, since they're there.   
      
   They didn't want to pay for the traffic light, I was told.   
      
   I was incredulous the first time I heard that, because I   
   didn't think it was up to the residents whether a sign was   
   put up or not. I still don't. But that's what they said.   
      
   So, I would be in the minority on wanting the signs removed   
   (as you probably had surmised).   
      
   However, being in the minority doesn't make me wrong (or   
   right), so, it's not a datapoint which is valid for the   
   legality of the signs.
