   I agree. I'm lucky to have my wife with me almost everywhere I go since   
   I work out of my home office, and we tend to run errands together. When   
   one of us is driving, we have an understanding between us that the   
   passenger is responsible for looking up locations on a map, performing   
   DJ duties, adjusting the climate controls, and helping with driving   
   tasks when needed, and so on. That understanding just came to be   
   naturally - common sense. Unfortunately, it seems not to be the norm for   
   a whole lot of people we see on the road, where the passenger and driver   
   are often both engaged in things other than driving. >: (
