Talk to some anti-car folks and they'll tell you cars are killing
   machines.

Meanwhile millions upon millions of guns kill nothing. Take out
governments' wars and the purpose of guns becomes clearly one of not
killing people. Just like any tool, any object, it's main purpose is the
purpose of those who control it.

Drive a eight lane interstate late at night at the 55mph PSL and get
   back to me.

In Mark Rask's book he discusses the PA turn pike. It opened without a
speed limit. When a speed limit was imposed it was suggested each driver
be given a cup of coffee at the toll booth to stay awake.

So again, drive an interstate at 55mph and get back to me. Even at 70
most are boring. Driving has been made boring by the same people who now
think that bans on a few contributing factors to bad driving can fix
   things.

You've clearly never paid attention to how things work in this country.
For instance, this issue. People are driving bad due to distraction from
cell phones. What's the solution? Ban cell phones and then punish the
people who use them while driving. Look at a problem as simple as red
light running. Real solution is to fix the signal timing and other
engineering defects. What do americans do? Put up a red light camera to
punish the violators. Pretty much every problem in this country is
   "solved" by punishing people.
