   'allow'. That word. There's the problem. A free person isn't allowed.   
   He's free. A child is allowed. A slave is allowed. A serf is allowed. A   
   free man is free. He is held accountable for his actions. But when   
   people aren't free, then their accountability is judged by if what they   
   were doing is allowed or not. It assumes they don't have the capacity to   
   be accountable. That they can't understand that shaving while driving   
   was bad because it isn't banned, but they can understand using a cell   
   phone when driving was bad because it is banned.
