As a an attorney who practices in Federal Court, and I know I am answering
this way after the initial thread, but in an endeavor to inform others, the
officers do usually show up to court. An attorney will generally charge
between $650 and $850. As to
defenses, if the cop has all his paperwork for court, there are usually not
many defenses. Get your car calibrated. If it is a low reckless, you
probably don't need an attorney. The prosecutor will drop the reckless and
   give you a speeding ticket.
