   For some reason, people tend to vote the radical ends of the spectrum;   
   thus, we have a dichotomous system between the polar extremes of which   
   we bounce like a ping-pong ball.  If people would vote for sensible,   
   moderate candidates who would go to Washington intending to compromise   
   and get meaningful legislation passed, then these people would get   
   elected.  As it is, the only alternative to a Ted Cruz is a Nancy   
   Pelosi and the vast majority of Americans are somewhere about the   
   middle.  I don't believe that the American voter wants Ted Cruz any   
   more than the average lemming would rush into the sea if he'd just   
   stop and considert the consequences.
