   A 22-year-old Florida woman who tweeted “2 drunk 2 care” before   
   a fatal 2013 wrong-way crash that resulted in two deaths now   
   faces 24 years in prison.   
      
   Kayla Maria Mendoza, 22, was sentenced on Monday, according to   
   several publications. Mendoza, who was 20 at the time of the   
   wreck, faced up to 30 years in prison after entering a guilty   
   plea on two counts of DUI manslaughter back in February.   
      
   The wreck in question happened on the Sawgrass Expressway in   
   Coral Springs on Nov. 16, 2013. Police said Mendoza was driving   
   between 84 and 96 mph heading eastbound in the westbound lanes.   
   Her vehicle crashed into another, killing Marisa Catronio, 21,   
   at the scene, CBS reported. Kaitlyn Ferrante, 21, died later at   
   a local hospital.   
      
   Mendoza’s blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.   
      
   Mendoza sent out the tweet earlier in the evening and has said   
   it was directed at her boyfriend, CBS reported.   
      
   A similar incident is unfolding in the Miami area where a 24-   
   year-old woman is accused of sending a text to her ex-boyfriend   
   just minutes before a fatal crash. That text, according to   
   police, read “ driving drunk woo.”   
      
   The woman in the Miami case, Mila Dago, faces a number of   
   criminal charges related to the accident and the death of one of   
   her friends. A trial date has not been set.
