   The qualifications are miserably low and there are huge numbers of   
   unlicensed uninsured drivers here.

   My 1988 Caddy is a piece of shit even with only 85K miles.  It still   
   runs, though.

   California used to have the best roads in the country.  Now everything   
   is in need of repair, and when the lights illuminating the freeway signs   
   burn out they aren't replaced.  This encourages the use of high beams at   
   all times because low beams don't illuminate the signs soon enough.

   Not as much as they used to be, thank heaven.  Or else they recognize   
   that 80 mph in the diamond lane is reasonable.
