XPost: rec.arts.tv, alt.california, sac.politics       XPost: alt.politics.democrats       From: sanctuary.city.criminals@latimes.com              LOS ANGELES — Actor/comedian T.J. Miller, star of Silicon       Valley and the just-opened Office Christmas Party, was arrested       early Friday after a car-service driver accused him of battery,       Los Angeles police say.              Miller's arrest came two days before he will host the Critics'       Choice Awards in Santa Monica on Sunday.              Officer Drake Madison says Miller was arrested around 1 a.m.       Friday. The accusing driver wanted Miller booked under a       citizen's arrest.              Madison did not have additional details about what led to the       dispute between the driver and Miller.              TMZ reported that Miller and the driver got into an argument       about President-elect Donald Trump, and Miller allegedly slapped       the driver in the head when they arrived at Miller's home.              Miller was no fan of Trump, calling him a "madman" and "lunatic"       on Twitter in July.              Madison says Miller was released on his own recognizance and was       ordered to appear in court on Jan. 9.              Joey Berlin, president of the organization that bestows the       Critics' Choice Awards, says Miller will remain the host for       Sunday's show.              "We look forward to seeing what he's going to do on Sunday,"       Berlin said.              A call to Miller's manager was not immediately returned.              Miller is best known for his role as Erlich Bachman in the       quirky Silicon Valley, in which he plays the owner of a home       that serves as headquarters for a fledgling start-up.              He's also in the comedy Office Christmas Party, which opened       Friday. He co-stars with Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn and Kate       McKinnon as fun-loving employees who throw a debaucherous, R-       rated holiday party to save their tech company.              T.J. Miller, who stars in the holiday film 'Office Christmas       Party' offers his wisdom on how to throw an unforgettable       Christmas party at your office. Video shot by Todd Plitt. USA       TODAY NETWORK              In an interview with USA TODAY for the movie, Miller said it's       been fun promoting a comedy "during the apocalypse," meaning       just before Trump takes office as the next president of the       United States.              "Family is not for arguing and fighting this year," he said in       the interview. "It's for getting together and remembering what's       great about America, which is film and laughter. We've always       had the best sense of humor in the world — you hear that,       England?"              http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2016/12/09/tj-miller-       arrested-two-days-before-hosting-critics-choice-awards/95211898/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
