I       transmitted using a modified computer mouse as a key so that the left       button made dits and the right one dahs. It sat on the car seat next to       me for use while driving. With a reasonable CW speed (20-40 wpm for me)       I could read CW in my head so that no writing was necessary. During a       sun spot peak I had world coverage (mainly 10 and 15 meters) and other       times 20 and 40 meters for the daytime local in country stuff. I was       using a homebrew 50 watt transmitter, a crystal converter to the car       radio and a 6 foot top loaded whip. I made several cross country trips       and that made the time pass much quicker. I wonder how a hand held mouse       key compares to a hand held phone for distraction... 8-O              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
