The victim remains in critical condition.(Slidell       Police)              On Sunday, September 7, shortly after 11 p.m., paramedics were sent to       Greenbriar Community Care Center in response to a woman who had supposedly       fallen in the parking lot.              The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.              After further examination and a rapid decline in the victim’s vitals,       medical personnel determined the injuries were consistent with being       struck by a vehicle, not a fall.              The hospital immediately notified Slidell police of their findings.              On Monday, September 8, around 3 a.m., Slidell police began their       investigation and obtained surveillance footage from the care center.              The video revealed a disturbing sequence of events:              The victim, an employee of Greenbriar Community Care Center, was walking       across the parking lot when she was struck by an SUV that was backing up       recklessly.              The driver, identified Sellers of Mandeville, who was also an employee of       the care center, briefly exited the vehicle, retrieved a broken piece of       the bumper and went to work as if nothing had happened.              Instead of rendering aid or notifying emergency personnel, Sellers told       co-workers a woman had fallen in the parking lot and needed help.              Staff members went outside to assist the victim, unaware she had been       struck by Sellers’ vehicle or of the severity of her injuries.              “It’s really sad to watch she gets out of the vehicle walked over to the       victim laying on the pavement and then stood up walked over and picked up       a piece of her vehicle and removed it from the scene so it’s being       investigated as a hit-and-run,’ said Slidell police chief Randy Fandal.              Sellers was taken into custody and charged with reckless operation of a       motor vehicle, hit-and-run driving causing serious bodily injury,       negligent injuring and obstruction of justice by tampering with evidence.              Based on the initial investigation, police said it does not appear Sellers       intentionally struck the victim, but she knew she had hit a person and       attempted to cover it up by removing evidence.              Several witnesses told police it was not unusual for Sellers to drive       erratically through the parking lot.              When officers questioned Sellers about her actions, she shrugged her       shoulders and provided no explanation.              Sellers was booked into the Slidell City Jail and later transported to the       St. Tammany Parish Jail.              Greenbriar Community Care issued a statement on the incident saying right       now ‘our hearts are broken for our coworker, and they say they’re       cooperating fully with the police investigation.              The victim remains in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.              https://www.wafb.com/2025/09/09/police-slidell-woman-runs-over-coworker-       parking-lot-goes-work-if-nothing-happened/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
