   I used to ride a 65 RE Interceptor.  It tried to kill me one night when I was   
   going around a unlit potholed curve and the headlight went out.  I quickly   
   switched to the high beam.   
      
   The service manual called the mufflers +ACI-silencers+ACI, which were little   
   more than straight pipes.  I didn't ride it enough to go deaf.   
      
   I still have the bike, more or less.  It's disassembled and stored in various   
   boxes and piles.  Much safer that way.  I imagine I'll get it back together   
   sometime after I retire and give it another shot at me.
