   ISTR that you could stick an optical sensor on a rubber sucker on the TV   
   screen and connect it to your (BBC?) computer to download data.   
   Transfer rate was fairly slow with a frame rate of 50Hz. If you had 1   
   bit per frame so with error checks and other overhead it must have been   
   about 5 bytes per second.   
   Given the chance for error it must have been a frustrating business.   
      
   I had a speccy and acorn atom at the time and so I didn't get the chance   
   to join in.
