In Australia amateurs are secondary in 70 cm.

We had 420 to 450 Mhz. We lost 420 to 430 to allow emergency
services to have a shared radio system.
There is a low power radio band in the 433 and 434 Mhz bands.
It happens that repeater inputs are in that range.
