|    Kenwood TS430s L8 & L9 instructor    |

New to Google Groups so if there is a Kenwood or TS-430 group I could not find       it.              I purchased a Kenwood TS-430s off of ebay. The note said it had not been       tested since the guy selling his fathers radio was not a HAM nor interested in       electronics. It also mentioned to look at the fuses to test the unit before       use. After I received it I        though it interesting that the (13.4 DC volt) power cord had a 2 prong 110 AC       volt plug wire nutted to it. Just from that picture I assumed it had been       plugged into the wall & was ready for some blown parts. Surprisingly I hooked       it to a 12 volt power        supply & it lit up. I only left it on a few seconds but notice when off but       the power supply on some smoke was getting out. I think the issue is the L8 &       L9 inductors. The service manual list L8 as a L40-1001-02 ferri-inductor 10uh       & the L9 as a L40-6811-       03 ferri-inductor 680uh.              My question is what is the amperage for these so I can go to the local       electronics sore & pick them up?              FYI: Im not very electrically inclined, as you may have noticed, but my son is       & thats why we are doing this project so if the amp question is irrelevant or       I need some other spec for the inductor please let me know.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
