As always, you never know - "Work        First Worry Later" (WFWL).              5H, TANZANIA (IOTA Op). Arno, DL1CW, is now active as 5H3AP. Length of       stay is unknown. He has been very active on 30 and 17 meters, usually       operating CW and RTTY. Reports indicate he will activate Mafia Island       (AF-054) between September 22nd and October 1st. QSL via his home callsign,       the DARC Bureau is preferred.              7Q, MALAWI. QSL Manager Allan, G0IAS, informs OPDX that Harry, 7Q7HB       (G0JMU), at last has his brand new radio shack completed. He has a new       telescopic tilt-over, free standing lattice mast installed, and a new       A4S antenna at the top. However, Allan states, "It's been MONTHS of hard       work....now only to find that the rotator is broken beyond repair. So he       has fastened the A4 beaming north for the time being." Harry is expected       to stay here until November 1st and then return to England. He will take       another rotator down to the southwest shore of Lake Malawi, at "Club       Makokola", on his next visit. Remember, the QSL route for 7Q7HB is as       always "DIRECT ONLY" to G0IAS (NO BUREAU... Allan is not a member of the       RSGB, so he is NOT allowed to use the BUREAU in the UK and there is NO       Bureau in Malawi). If anyone has any questions for Allan, his E-mail is       good on QRZ.com and is: allan.g0ias@btinternet.com       Allan will answer any E-mails within a couple of hours.              9H, MALTA. Naoyuki, JK1FNL, will be active possibly as 9H3F or 9H3FF       between September 19-24th. Activity will be on 40/30/20 meters using       CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via his home callsign.              A3, TONGA (OC-049). A group of JA operators are expected to be active from       here between now and September 17th. No QSNs have been reported as this       was being typed. Operators mentioned are: Nob/JA2AAU (A35AU), Yoshi/JA2AIC       (A35IC), Iwao/JA2LSS (A35SS), Iku/JA2ATE (A35TE) and Mori/JA2ZS (A35ZS).       Activity will be on all bands and modes. QSL via the information on QRZ.com       for each callsign.              C6, BAHAMAS (Update). Ed, K3IXD, informs OPDX that C6APR will be active       from the Crooked Island Lodge, Pittstown Point, Crooked Island, Bahamas,       in the CQ WWW SSB Contest (October 25-26th) as a Multi-2 entry. He also       states, "The lodge manager has confirmed that the lodge survived both       Hanna and Ike hurricanes." The operators will be: W2GJ (Pete), K3IXD (Ed),       W3PP (Dallas), and W8ZA (Bob). Look for activity before and after the       contest (between October 23-27th) by C6APR to be on 160-10 meters including       the 30/17/12 meter bands using CW and SSB. Also, look for C6AXD to be on       before and after the contest (between October 23-27th) on 160-10 meters       including the 30/17/12 meter bands, mostly RTTY and some SSB. Both       callsigns are good for Bird Rock Lighthouse (ARLHS BAH-005) as well as       IOTA NA-113 and Grid FL22tt. All QSLs go to K3IXD.              E51, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS. Just a reminder that Bill, N7OU, will again be       operating from Rarotonga as E51NOU between September 15th and October       11th. Activity will be on 40-10 meters using low power and CW only. Bill       states, "For most of my stay I'll be operating around a work schedule,       but I'll make a special effort to be on at grayline times to Europe."       QSL via N7OU.              ER0, MOLDOVA. Serge, UR5FEO, will be active as ER0FEO during the CQWW DX       RTTY Contest (September 27-28th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry.       QSL via UU0JM.              FM, MARTINIQUE. Freddy, F5IRO, will once again be here. He has received       a new work assignment in Martinique (IOTA NA-107, DIFO FM-001, WLOTA 1041)       where he is expected to be here starting September 21st through the end       of February 2009. His callsign is not yet known, but possibly FM/F5IRO.       Activity will be limited because of his work, usually during his spare       time in the evenings starting around 2200z, and during the weekends. Using       a FT-857D into a V40 and G5RV (HM) antenna, look for him on 40/30/20 meters       operating CW, the Digital modes and a little SSB. Sked are possible by       request at : f5iro63@gmail.com       Freddy and Philippe/FM5LD plan to enter the next CQWW DX CW Contest at       the end of November.
