The club will benefit from a copy of RadCom       in the post each month, as well as access to the RSGB app where              they can read RadCom, RadCom Basics and RadCom Plus.              Also special book discounts, promotion of club activities, access to RSGB       affiliated club contests, and use of the QSL Bureau.              Nice one RSGB.       (rsgb)       ------------------------------------------------------------*        IT'S A DATE              Clubs are welcome to email text with audio for this section,       nationalnews@wia.org.au as VK5LSB has done.       My name is David with some news and notes on behalf of the South Coast       Amateur Radio Club and its committee.              On Thursday the 04th of December the South Coast Amateur Radio Club held       its annual end of year BBQ and Social Get Together down at the club rooms at       Karawatha Hall which is a fantastic facility for the club as it has an       Electric BBQ onsite along with a Large Veranda shelter for shade and sitting       outside for a meeting on a warm night etc.              The event was well attended by club members and guests and was catered for       by Jarrad VK5MUZ and his Mother Chris who cooked up a feast for the       members and guests on the night. The steak was to die for along with all the       other meats and salads that were hand made by Chris. So, a big thank you goes       out to VK5MUZ Jarrad and his mother Chris for all the catering and hard work       that was put in by them to make the night a huge success.                     The South Coast Amateur Radio Club VK5RSV 70cm C4FM / Wires X Repeater is       back up and operational and working well on the air following some repairs to       the repeater and is providing great coverage across the Southern Fleurieu       Peninsula and Adelaide Plains with operators from as far Para hills and       Regency Park being able to access the repeater successfully. Thank You to       Nathan VK5OG for co-ordinating and facilitating the repairs to the repeater.              The South Australian Repeater Group has continued to grow and develop       across Adelaide with quite a number of Amateur Operators being involved in       the group with a wide spread participation and involvement with members       from most Amateur Radio clubs around Adelaide now being involved. Two       members of the group Nathan VK5OG and Stuart VK5ADE were out last Sunday       across the Fleurieu Peninsula region installing a few more Meshtastic Nodes       across the region and they can be identified with SARG Name, and the              Meshtastic network continues to grow within South Australia.              The South Coast Amateur Radio Club has been provided with a Draft Lease by       the City of Onkaparinga Council for the Karawatha Hall facility to which the       club is currently meeting and this will facilitate a great home for the club       moving forward into the future with a long-term home for the club but also       where we can place some antennas on the hall.                     Stay tuned for more details and information in the near future.              Myself and the committee would like to wish all members, family and friends       of the South Coast Amateur Radio Club along with all Amateur Radio operators       and hobbyists a Very Merry Christmas and a Safe Christmas and extend seasons       greetings to all along with a Happy and Safe New Year.              We look forward to seeing you all at the first meeting of 2026 on Thursday       22nd January at 1900hrs at Karawatha Hall for the election of the New       Committee for 2026. (wiacal/ARMAG )       Reception Reports              No we DO like to hear where in the world you are listening to this,       the WIA NATIONAL NEWS SERVICE.              WIA News rebroadcasters often give Short Wave Listeners a       welcome to the broadcast as they commence call-backs       straight after the Local News. Local news follows National       news in all states. It would be great if those SWL's would       email their reception reports and location to       callbacks@wia.org.au              Not only but also those watching us on YouTube, leave a comment , access       is just below the picture on screen and again tell us where and maybe       even the day and time you are listening       Submitting news items              If you would like to submit news items for possible inclusion       in the VK1WIA broadcasts, please email your item in text to       nationalnews@wia.org.au and don't JUST send url's links or       posters, but take the time to pen YOUR contribution.              To submit audio, email nationalnews@wia.org.au       and send BOTH the audio and the text              We would appreciate items certainly no longer than 1.5 mts in       length as we only have a half hour.              Remember the sooner you submit material the more the       likelihood of it being broadcast in the very next edition of       WIA National News.              Each recorded item will only be broadcast once, if you want a couple       of mentions, please submit different slants to keep your       event 'fresh' and always if the news room is to read your       item --- write it in the 3rd person. (First if YOU are       reading your own item). If you are mentioning your own name / call       in the story, say something like "and myself, Pat, vk11abc"              Promote your local rebroadcast; details on       wia.org.au/members/broadcast/contribute/              A reminder when supplying HamFest info we obviously can't       plug DEALS from commercial traders "on air", but we at the       WIA will put your supporters 'goods' in this text edition       "no worries."              We will not give blatant 'plugs' to raffles, be it raffles       at the event or "on-line".                     [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
