   You have to look at this from several points of view.   
      
   The crew might be sincere in their belief that their machine can provide   
   reactionless thrust. Nothing that they've post suggests that their   
   experiments are all that reliable or mean much more than that they can   
   deceive themselves about the reliability of their data.   
      
   If they get their $24 million, a sincere group would probably find out   
   where they've gone wrong, but one can't exclude the faint chance that   
   they are onto something real.   
      
   The more realistic point of view would be that that much money would be   
   a magnet for crooks, and any sincere believers in the original crew   
   would get ripped off by infiltrators pretending to take them seriously.   
      
   The invitation to contribute to PayPal might be the first sign of that   
   infiltration.
