   I just tried playing a CD on it for several minutes, then quickly   
   changing to a DVD, with no improvement.

   That makes sense. Since it still works with Blu Ray's, for the moment I   
   will set it up along with an old DVD player for the DVD's unless someone   
   can make suggestions for getting it working for those.
