Does the Caps Lock key not display the LED to say it has       been or can be toggled on/off? If the caps lock still toggles then it       may be a screen backlight issue, especially if the fan(s) still spin.       Try playing some music when the computer is working and check if the       music stops when the screen goes blank. If music still plays then pretty       safe bet the screen has issues.              Otherwise, as suggested, dust may be the problem, or the switching power       supply's electrolytic capacitors may have reached their end-of-life and       either need new caps or a new switching supply. May not be so easy to       fix the power supply on a laptop...              John :-#)#              --       (Please post followups or tech inquiries to the USENET newsgroup)        John's Jukes Ltd.        #7 - 3979 Marine Way, Burnaby, BC, Canada V5J 5E3        (604)872-5757 (Pinballs, Jukes, Video Games)        www.flippers.com        "Old pinballers never die, they just flip out."              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
