   Elderly man shoots wife with dementia, kills self

   ALLENTOWN -- Authorities said a 92-year-old Pennsylvania man told his son he   
   planned to end his elderly wife's suffering, then shot her in the head before   
   killing himself.   
      
   The man was identified as Izak Waide, of Allentown. The Lehigh County coroner   
   ruled his death early Friday a suicide.   
      
   Police said his wife, 92-year-old Malka Waide, is expected to survive. She   
   suffers from Alzheimer's disease.   
      
   Allentown police Capt. William Reinik said the couple's son contacted   
   authorities at about 6:15 a.m. Friday. He said his father told him he was   
   tired of seeing his wife in her condition and he was going to end her   
   suffering. The son pleaded with his    
   father but he hung up the phone.
